Scrapbooks!

A couple weeks ago I finally finished this book that my mother made for me to document my pregnancy month by month for Grace to read when she is older. I think my mother was trying to make me take pictures of me being pregnant but I didn't do very many. More were taken of me when I was pregnant with Grace than Hunter. Not sure why I didn't take pics of me I just didn't want to I felt huge with Hunter and didn't have time with Grace cause I was chasing Hunter. But all in all the book is done! I also finished Grace's birth book. Hunter has one that has pictures taken when he was in the hospital. Alot of pictures were taken of him and about 250 of them where from Uncle Dan. Grace didn't get that many pictures taken of her cause Uncle Dan wasn't able to make it which was totally fine! I was able to make do with the many pics that I took and that other family took when she was in the hospital. So that book is done. I just finished her January through June book so it is her 1-5 month book and I meant it to be 1-6 months but I took so many pics of her that the book got to full. My goal is to get rid of all my stickers and scrapbook paper and just order scrapbooks online so I can do books of both the kids and it will be alot easier. Don't get me wrong I still have 2 more scrapbooks to do one of Hunter and one of Grace my mother got me these cool packets of everything in them for Christmas and I am going to try to do them at the same time and order pictures as I go throughout the year. I am still one year behind on Hunter though. I think I did his scrapbooks up to his 1st bday when I was pregnant with Grace and trying to get caught up on all his scrapbooks. So I gotta figure out if I am going to back track and use the scrapbook stuff my mother got and make one from a year ago or do this year or just order a scrapbook through Snapfish or one of those places or see if Costco is still carrying the scrapbook kits that my mother got. I am almost out of my boy stickers and I am saving them for his memory book which is another project I have going on with both kids! It is never ending. But I can say that I got 3 scrapbooks done and I will take a pic of them this week to show you all! I was so excited when I finished Grace's 1-5 month book because I have been trying to do it during afternoon nap and today I got a mocha and didn't finish drinking it until after one and both kids were asleep and I powered through it. I had a mission I wanted to get rid of all my scrapbook stuff. I got some cool stamps from my mother that I am going to try out on a few projects I have up my sleeve I just haven't ventured that yet.

And here are the pics of 1/2 the backyard project done! We dug out all the grass put a liner type thing down and put rock on top. Lar made the flower beds and we finally planted starts and seeds yesterday. Anthony helped Lar with the rocks and the retaining wall by the AC unit. The next stage is the next half of the backyard. Gonna pull out all the grass and make it a place for us to hang out and put a sandbox there for the kids.

Wow it has been a long time since I blogged! It has been very busy in the Robinson household! Gotta catch everyone up! We went to the outside OC pool and Hunter had a blast he was smiling the whole time! Grace was in her carseat most of the time and than Lar took her out and got her feet wet. I think she like it. Grace sleeps through the night! Yeah! We had a day or two where she didn't but we powered through them. She is eating more real food and that has helped her get through the night, I think. She loves banana's but can't get to many it clogs her up. She can't eat to many peaches that upsets her belly and we tried plums with bananas but when we gave her the plums she was waking up twice in the night. So we are bagging the plums. This weekend she gets pears! I just put them in the rice cooker to steam while Hunter is sleeping. Grace also hadn't been taking her Pedilax in about a week but with all these different food combo's she is getting it through her system it just comes out like rocks so we are going back on pedilax but at least she has a BM everyday with out it so we are getting somewhere! She is a little ham. She can laugh so hard when Hunter laughs with her she thinks he is pretty funny.Hunter just amazes me! He remembers everything and talks up a storm! He is getting better at going potty in the toliet and I am not forcing him to he does it most of the time on his own. He loves stickers and puts them everywhere even on his toes!

The other day he wanted to tak Grace's temp and he put it under her arm! I don't do this I put it in her bum so I found out that he learned this from Annie when she did it at daycare. Poor Grace she was a trooper though. Just stared at Hunter the whole time and Hunter was very gentle with her and would take it out and check it and say no temp and put it back under her arm.

We are going rafting this July in a few weekends so the boys tented last night on our porch! It went pretty well and Hunter stayed in it the whole night! We weren't sure if that would happen. We learned that he needs about an hour down time to get used to the idea of staying in the tent and than he will crash. Lar didn't sleep much just worrying about him. I guess Hunter tosses and turns alot and ended up one time down by Lar's feet. I think we might have to get a light weight sleeping bag for mr. mover.

Today, Hunter cut Lar's hair! He was pretty excited about it and when I tried to help him he would so no mama i cut papa's hair! We were just trying to get him to get his hair cut so this was another angle to get him to let Lar cut his.

We are slowly getting the garden/backyard project done. I planted the flower beds full of veggies and fruit! So excited. I know it might be to late in the season but oh well. I will try to post pics of what the backyard looks like later I still haven't taken any pics of it since I posted the before pics. Lar and Anthony are working on the backyard right now while the kids sleep. They are putting up a small retaining wall to seperate the garden part from the lounging/sand box area for the kids. This all was Lar's idea so I am just rolling with it. The pic below was the progress we made last weekend. We dug up the grass and put a drop cloth down and rock over it and laid out the beds Lar had made. So I better post some pics of it all. I think that is about all that is new with us!

"Hunter says..."

We have a big talker in our house! Hunter talks up a storm and he uses his name in almost everything he says. He says Hunter pick up toys, Hunter eat peach and last night he wanted to play with his train set and it was his bed time so I told him to talk to his papa and he went up to Lar and said Papa Hunter play with train! He is such a smart little cookie! I don't know any other kid that said their name with everything! Not sure if this is a good thing or not. I think he started saying it because I would say his name and than tell him something. He is such a little man. Grace is getting big! She has grown lengthwise and grabs at anything in her reach and it goes straight in her mouth. She loves to eat peaches. She follows Larry, Lucy, and Hunter like a hawk if they are in the room she is watching where they go. She is wearing 6-9 month clothes and mostly has bare feet because socks are impossible on her. She loves to kick her heels. Larry gave her a nickname the other night at 3:30am when she was kicking her heels in her bed wanting to eat or she was all gasey and it was uncomfortable for her but she was still asleep. He called her Thumper (not sure if that is how you spell it), from Bambi, and she totally is cause she kicks all the time. She is still a great baby! She cries when she is hungry or bored but all in all she is pretty content doing whatever. Her hair is starting to turn blonde. Not sure if I am going to get my redhead out of her yet! Gotta jet and get some housework done. I just wanted to post about Hunter talking so I can look back and remember when he gave him self the first person language.

Feeding the birds and backyard project!

Earlier this week we went and feed the birds down at the Oregon City park by the river. Lar has taken Hunter there before to feed the birds but this was Grace and I's first time going. Hunter had a blast! He would feed the Canadian Geese a whole piece of bread and when one would come close to him and took his bread he would either drop the bread and scream or scream when the geese toke it from him. Super cute. I am pretty sure that Hunter wanted to just walk right into the water to get the ones that were swimmin. It was a fun time and I have never seen a Canadian Geese up that close before. They are quite beatiful I think.Last weekend Lar and I worked on the backyard project. I called up my mother and her husband to come steal the kids for a couple of hours so we could figure out what we are going to do with the planter beds that Lar made a couple of weekends ago. I had Lar take a before picture to show you why we were doing this project in the first place. Our backyard is tiny and the people before us had a garden area that was going down the slope and the grass was full of weeds. We got alot done thanks to the kids not being home to have to worry about. We are going to do it again this weekend and see how much we get done. Here are the pics of the not so nice backyard.

I will post pictures of the finished project when it becomes a finished project! Hopefully, this weekend we can get a couple more hours into it. I have sunflowers that are potted that need to be put in the ground very soon!

Food Processing!

I am going to try to not buy baby food this time with Grace. I did with Hunter cause I was just excited to use the baby food jars and containers that you buy at the store! This time since my sister in law is doing pureeing her own foods I thought I would try to be better and save some money and do the same. Don't get me wrong Lar bought a few baby food jars just in case we have a no fruit/veggie emergency. Grace's first food other than rice cereal, which she doesn't like, is bananas. I know I should start with the veggies but her doctor said to start with fruits since she gets constipated for days and she is on daily pedi-lax. My goal, hopefully, is to get off the pedi-lax and that the fruits will make her regular. Which the bananas seem to be doing since she has a BM 2 times a day now w/ meds and not one or none. So we are on the home stretch! I have been mashing her 1/2 banana in a bowl and giving it to her and it seems to work alright I can't get the chunks out. I tried our big food processor that we got for Christmas and made more of a mess than I need just for 1/2 banana. We have a small food processor that chops veggies but it has too many parts also. So! I saw on my girlfriend, Noelle's baby registry this very cool baby food processor and I had to get it! Noelle, by the way still hasn't had her baby and she was due on Saturday! Hurry baby Conwell we want to know if you are a boy or girl! Anywho, here is a pic of what I got I haven't opened it yet just in case Lar doesn't like the idea and I have to take it back. We start Peaches on Sunday very excited! Also, anyone have advice for a very novice baby pureeing mom?

5 months old!

I can't believe my baby girl is 5 months old today! She started eating banana's on Sunday and likes it alot better than rice cereal!

House projects and big girl bath tub!

Last weekend Lar finished the rocks going underneath the porch project . The house is looking alot nicer. We are trying to make some improvements before we try to sell it. Here is what the house looks like now. I tried to find a picture of it before Lar did the rocks but I couldn't find one or I didn't take one in the past years. I think the house looks alot better now! Good idea Lar!
Lar also started on the making the flower beds project. Hunter has to help with everything! Especially if Lar is doing something new and exciting. Hunter was helping Lar put screws in the holes. Lar made 4 boxes to go in the backyard that we will make into a full garden since it is a small space. This weekend he will get to work on getting the ground ready for the boxes. His goal is not to mow back there since it is just weeds growing anyways.

Last night Miss Grace grew out of her baby bath tub and we took the straps off it and now she is in it but it has turned into a big girl bath tub. Funny thing is we didn't even know the straps came off when we used it for Hunter! I just realized when I was giving her a bath last night and she wanted to sit up not lounge in it that it was made for her to sit! So I took her out and off came the mesh and here she is big sitter girl! Which is kinda funny since she doesn't like to sit she is a big stander! She sat pretty good. Notice my bath helper! He is always right there to help out and wack her head with her brush. Such a nice brother.

Pool Time!

We took advantage of the warm weather and went over to the Robinson's pool. We all took a dip in it while the grandparents were away! I thought the pool was cold but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Realized today!

I have been up since 5:30 am cause of my little sweet Grace and it is after 1 pm and I realized today that I have been too high maintance with myself in regards to getting stuff done! I mostly have so much on my plate on my day off or weekends and want to get so many projects done on top of housework on top of hanging out with the kids and Lar and I was getting frustrated that I wasn't getting everything done! Today I told myself I was going to do one project only and forget about the rest and you know what I am feeling totally refreshed and feel like I have accomplished something because I got that project done and many more! So note to self only plan one project a day and enjoy the rest of the day along with regular chores and once those are done see what else you can do. So that is my plan from now on! One project only and not to stress out that I didn't get everything done! I have also told myself that I can't nap like I want to. I would try to get the kids down at the same time so I could sleep myself since I get up one or 2 times still in the middle of the night with Grace and than sometimes Hunter that I am toast for the day. But I just got to deal with toast and keep myself up during their nap cause I go do stuff during it that I wouldn't be able to do if I was sleeping. It is crazy what you tell yourself to do and how it changes how you look at your day and life. Don't get me wrong I still might take a nap here and there but it will not be everyday that I am home with the kids anymore.

On to the pics! For some reason my photo's take forever to download if I do a group of them so I have to do them one at a time which is time consuming but oh well.

Grace in her bumbo chair w/ tray that the neighbours gave us. I had a blue bumbo chair for Hunter but than they got recalled so I had my mother take it back. I didn't know that they came with trays! I actually love this bumbo chair and wish I would have saved Hunter's blue one cause we could have given it to Nate! Oh well. This is the first time I put Grace in her bumbo chair which was today. Love the messy face and she is totally checking out the tray.Hunter today at lunch time. He is watching Seasame street that is why he is so serious. I promise you he does smile and laughs. Don't you think he looks ALOT like Larry in this pic?!My sweet Grace sucking on her fingers. When she gets bored or can't reach a toy she finds her fingers. She just goes to town on them. You can her her sucking away. Hunter has learned to put his fingers in his mouth from her. Lovely.We learned the other day that if Grace sleeps on her side she sleeps alot longer. It was the same with Hunter. I use her sea horse muscial to keep her on her side. We have two of these sea horses because it lights up and Hunter loves things that light up. He calls it horse sea.

Big 'ole head!

My poor Grace has Hunter's head. I have no clue where my kids get their heads but they are big! I am actually thankful that Grace has a big head cause she was tiny when she was born and I didn't want her to look like she had a small head standing next to her brother when they were older. Grace has been working on lifting her head and when she does her big ole feet go straight off the ground too. She has gotten better with practice and this weekend she kept her head up for a long time before making a fuss which is what she usually does. Of course I ran for the camera and snapped a few pics of her. So here they are and than some of Hunter when he first tried and than a later one with his big ole head up.

Isn't she just the cutest! Her hair is falling out too. The sides and her top or getting thin. I am pretty sure we will have a red head when it is all said and done. I think she will have auburn hair. Hunter right now is blonde form all the sun! It will probably be blonde/white this summer cause that boy has to go outside! Here are old pics of Hunter!


It was a busy weekend for us even though we stayed home. Lar is trying to get projects done around the house so we can sell it hopefully this summer. He was hoping to get rock to put under our porch but they couldn't deliver until tuesday so will see what happens this weekend. So instead of doing that Lar fixed his dead jeep and pressure washed the porch and all the mildew off the toy structures on the porch. We finally got a little tykes table for Hunter and Grace when she gets bigger. I didn't want to pay full price for one and check out garage sales but I just haven't had any time to or I am to lazy to go look so we bought one. What a difference that makes it is easier to keep track of him with a small table instead of him climbing over and on our regular table. I didn't take any pics of him on it yet. Forgot to. Today we got a hand me down bunk bed with ladder from a co-worker at my work for free! It will be Hunter's big boy bed so now he has two but this new one doesn't fit his room so we will store it in the shed. Lar went to re-organize the shed and he found some things for Grace that I had stored in their from our neighbour. We didn't know our neighbours to the left and they were there for maybe a year or less but I didn't see them much and I never talked to them I would smile but that was all. For some reason I am bad with strangers since I have had kids. When Grace was born a month or two after one of the neighbour ladies knocked on our door during nap time and she said she knew we had a girl and wanted to know if they could give us some of their granddaughter's stuff since they would be moving and didn't want to haul it all. I said sure so later that day two of the neighbor guys came over and had three big black bags of stuff and it was all free! There was clothes 6 months to 18 months in the bags they brought over the pink and purple exosaucer that Grace uses now and a pink bumbo chair with tray! There was also a bag of metal stuff that looked junky to me so I had Lar put that in the shed with the exosaucer and after I cleaned up the clothes those went in the shed also. I told the guys thanks and I could tell one of them was the little girls dad. I never really talked to the neighbors since cause I never saw them and they just moved out 2 weeks ago. I feel bad now that I didn't put a card on their door or flowers. Cause I totally forgot about the stuff in the shed! Here I have been stressing about clothes for little Miss that I have even been to the Goodwill outlet where I bought clothes for a pound! I even went to a cute resale shop in portland for some clothes this weekend. And all along I had them in the shed with the hand me downs from my girlfriend, Em! I feel even worse that I didn't thank the neighbours even more! The last black bag had the coolest thing and here I thought it was trashy stuff! It had a jumper! Hunter didn't have a jumper at our house so we have never had one! It is the nicest thing ever! It is called the rainforest and it is in the nicest shape! We put Grace in it tonight and she loves it! It takes up alot of the living room but that happens when you have kids. I took some pics of it. So I feel like a heel cause I didn't even know the neighbours names and they saved us hundreds of dollars!


Grace's feet don't touch the ground so we put a pillow under it. I got to be better with strangers and when someone does something nice I gotta be better at thanking them! I learned my lesson! Grace also has been blowing bubbles like crazy or I should say spitting! I got it on video so I will try to get it downloaded in a few days. Well I better jet tomorrow is going to be a busy day at work. It was a nice productive, lazy weekend. Thanks to all the soldiers who are still alive and also to the ones that have passed for making this all possible for me to enjoy my family!
